GMC has announced some interesting updates for the 2026 model year of the Hummer EV, available in both pickup and SUV versions.
Among the main highlights is the new King Crab mode, which aims to improve off-road agility by allowing the rear wheels to turn significantly faster than the front wheels.
According to GMC, this results in “greater maneuverability when navigating tight off-road spaces.” It is not yet clear whether this driving mode includes other changes, but the brand described it as a “software-enabled mode.”
Additionally, the Hummer EV will also receive a special Carbon Fiber Edition, which GMC claims is the fastest Hummer EV yet, capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds.
GMC also revealed that the Hummer EV will feature bidirectional charging capability, allowing it to transfer energy to other electric vehicles and even power a house in case of a blackout.
According to Car And Driver, production of the 2026 Hummer EV will begin later this year, and although pricing has not yet been announced, they suggest it will likely increase compared to the 2025 model’s $99,045 base price.
